Back to Kansas-August 2011

We came home a little bit before school started so we could have a little fun before Zach's school started up. We did a lot of fun stuff. Here's a few things we did!

We visited the Zoo. We sure love our pass. We go there a ton.

Speaking of gorillas...We went to an exhibit for kids at the Crown Center. Wyatt had a good time there just chillin' with the gorilla.

Hiking (if you want to call it that) in the hills at the Governors Mansion.

It was so pretty and green. The tree's are so thick there is makes it nice and shady, which helps on those hot 108 degree days.
(Side note: That summer was so blazing hot. We left for Utah during the worst of it. It said it was 108 on my car the day we left. With the humidity factored in it's actually like 120 degrees! The humidity is such a change for us. We are used to that dry Utah heat. I like that dry heat A LOT better.)

We went to Jack Stack in Kansas City. It's probably my favorite BBQ place we've eaten at since we've been out here. It's a nicer sit down restaurant too, so I really liked that as well. Wyatt was being a little too crazy in the restaurant so I took him outside too walk around until our food got there. He really liked the big pig statue. That entertained him for awhile.
