Play Groups

So after our terrifyingly stressful arrival to Topeka things got much better. We dropped my parents and brother off at the Kansas City Airport and saw a little of Kansas City, which is very awesome, I must say...So visiting KC, only 1 hr away, is something we had to look forward too. Once we got back to Topeka we had a law student couple from our ward invite us to dinner with them. We'd never met them but they were so nice to just invite us over! It was SO NICE! We've been invited to dinner almost every week or more by new people we've met! When we went to church for the first time here in Topeka, people were lined up to meet us! It was crazy! Then I was invited to the weekly J. Reuben Clark (JRC) Law Society Play Group, it's a law society for LDS law students. It was so fun to meet all the moms and kids and have instant friends. There are usually about 10+ moms that come with their kids, it's a blast. There are tons of LDS students here, about 30+ law families, and we're all in the same boat:) So needless to say, upon our arrival, things got MUCH better after that initial shock. We feel that the Lord has REALLY blessed us. Things are going well for us out here.

Here are a few pictures of some play groups. This was at the Old Prairie Town. It reminded me of the pioneer stuff in Lagoon.
We went and walked through a beautiful garden afterward. There are amazing gardens here!
This was another Play Group at the Washburn fish pond. It was so cool. There were tons of fish, turtles, frogs, waterfalls, and Lilly pads. The kids all got to feed the fish Kix.
Wyatt just wanted to eat all the Kix off the floor, mom wouldn't let him, poor kid :(

It's so nice to have a play group to look forward to every week. It's planned out months in advance of where it will be. Tomorrow we'll be going to the Zoo, so fun!
