Elf on a Shelf 2012

December 2012

All through the month of December our little elf, that Wyatt named "Pow", watched Wyatt.  He's a magic elf, so if you touch him his magic powers could go away and he might not come back.  Wyatt was very obedient to that rule.  Each night Pow would fly back to see Santa and tell him how Wyatt had been.  Each morning when Wyatt woke up he'd find Pow in a different spot.

Wyatt LOVED to find Pow each morning.  He'd run into our room and say "Wake up! Let's go find Pow!"

 Our first morning with Pow.  Wyatt's a little unsure what to think.

 Wyatt was quite naughty the previous day, so Pow had a little note for Wyatt.

 Wyatt shaped up, but I'm not sure the note really hit home like it should have.  All he cared about was that Pow was in his helicopter, and he wanted to play with it :)

 This was Pows last day, Christmas Eve :(

He's taking a marshmallow bath with Wyatts favorite stuffed animal, his tiny dog.

 He left a special note for Wyatt.

You probably can't read it but it said Pow would be going to the North Pole and wouldn't be back until next year.  He's loved watching Wyatt and has told Santa what a good boy he's been.  He also said the magic would be lifted for only a minute so that Wyatt could hug him and tell him goodbye.  Then we had to place him back in his spot.

Wyatt was a little nervous to touch him, he barely held his little hand and then FLUNG him out of the marshmallow bowl, onto the table.

 He wouldn't touch him until we reassured him that it, REALLY WAS OK to hold him for a minute.

 He hugged him, and kissed him...well, blew a kiss to him, and told him he'd miss him.  So SAD!!!!! :(

We did get a little video of his goodbyes. (You can tell he's just a little hesitant with it all).

This has been such a fun tradition!  It's one we will ALWAYS have, from now on!
